Project Overview:
On January 18, 2022, Eastern Shore filed a prior notice request to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (“FERC” or “Commission”), pursuant to section 7 of the Natural Gas Act (NGA) and sections 157.203(c), 157.205(b), 157.208(c), and 157.210 of the Commission’s Part 157 blanket certificate regulations, to construct and operate the Southern Expansion Project (“Project”) to install an additional natural gas-fired compressor unit and appurtenant facilities at its Bridgeville Compressor Station in Sussex County, Delaware. The Project will add 1,875 horsepower of new compression. The new unit will be constructed within the existing compressor station building using extra work space adjacent to the compressor station and yard and will require no new permanent right-of-way.
Eastern Shore has executed a binding Precedent Agreement with an existing shipper on its system to provide 7,300 dekatherms per day (Dth/d) of additional firm natural gas transportation service.
The Project will support growing residential, commercial and industrial demand along the Delmarva Peninsula.
Evaluation
Eastern Shore held an Open Season from November 17, 2021 through December 3, 2021 to determine if there was additional interest from other prospective customers.
Executed Precedent Agreement
Eastern Shore executed a binding Precedent Agreement with an existing shipper for 7,300 dekatherms per day of firm transportation capacity.
Regulatory Approval
On December 15, 2022, Eastern Shore received FERC authorization for the Project under Docket No. CP22-40-000 reference Eastern Shore Natural Gas Co. 181 FERC ¶ 61,233.

Began April 2023.
